ISI-Free Power Roll-Off Pulse
SUMMARY An ISI-free power roll-off pulse, the roll-off characteristic of which is tunable with one power parameter, is proposed. It is shown that the proposed pulse is advantageous in terms of the probability of error for pulse detection in the presence of a timing error among currently known good pulses, among which the raised cosine pulse, " better than " raised cosine pulse, and polynomial p...
متن کاملOptical sinc-shaped Nyquist pulses with very low roll-off generated from a rectangular frequency comb
High-quality optical sinc-shaped Nyquist pulses with a virtual zero roll-off factor are obtained from the generation of a phase-locked, rectangular-spectrum frequency comb. Tunability over more than 4 frequency decades is demonstrated with <1% power distortion. OCIS codes: (060.4510) Optical communications; (060.4080) Modulation; (320.5540) Pulse shaping.
متن کاملInvestigation of Roll off Factor in Pulse Shaping Filter on Maximal Ratio Combining for CDMA 2000 System
The integration of wide variety of communication services is made possible with invention of 3G technology. Code Division Multiple Access 2000 operates on various RF channel bandwidths 1.2288 or 3.6864 Mcps (1x or 3x systems). It is a 3G system which offers high bandwidth and wireless broadband services but its efficiency is lowered due to various factors like fading, interference, scattering, ...
متن کامل512QAM Nyquist sinc-pulse transmission at 54 Gbit/s in an optical bandwidth of 3 GHz.
We demonstrate for the first time transmission of 54 Gbit/s and 48 Gbit/s over 44 km and 150 km, respectively, utilizing an optical bandwidth of only 3 GHz. We used polarization division multiplexed 512QAM and 256QAM modulation formats in combination with Nyquist pulse shaping having virtually zero roll-off. The resulting spectral efficiencies range up to 18 bit/s/Hz and 16 bit/s/Hz, respective...
متن کاملNonlinear Transmission Performance of Very High Spectral Efficiency WDM Comparing Nyquist Pulse Shaping and OFDM
The long distance transmission performance of Nyquist-WDM and OFDM, using PDM-QPSK at baud rate channel spacing, is investigated over uncompensated single mode fibre. Results show similar performance for both signal formats and good agreement with closed-form expressions for the nonlinear transmission performance of densely spaced coherent optical systems.
